The technology and protocol of our spinal decompression therapy has one of the highest success rates in all of healthcare – over 90%! The page of information is designed to summarize your treatment protocols and explain the logical (and anticipated) response to your care.
You will receive a Level IV examination with an expert on DRS. This exam will determine your eligibility to benefit from DRS due to severely degenerative activity in the spine. Radiological imaging may be required.
The following Phases are guidelines, however; exact treatment plans and protocols will vary with each patient. Treatment plans range from 3 to 5 months.
Phase I: Decompress
Reestablishing movement and fluids into the degenerative region of your spine. Anticipated response: Varies from soreness and discomfort to relief and reduction of chronic pain, followed by signs of measurable improvement.
Number of visits: 10, concluding with your first reexamination.
Frequency of visits: 3 to 5 times per week for the next 2 to 3 weeks.
Additional services will include: Cold Laser therapy, cryotherapy, and nutritional supplements.
Phase II: Reduce
Remodeling and rehydration of any spacing between vertebrae. The movement of vertebrae will increase the healing actions in the phase of care.Anticipated response: Noticeable reduction of chronic pain and greater movement of spine. The doctor may direct you to increase activities, and provide stretching protocols which will capture the gains of your decompression treatment.
Number of visits: 10 to 20, followed by your second reexamination.
Frequency of visits: 3 per week for approximately 2 months.
Additional services will include: Cold Laser therapy, stretching and strengthening instruction, and nutritional supplements.
Phase III: Stabilize
Stabilization and strengthening of the degenerative region within the spine.
Anticipated response: Noticeable improvement in the performance of daily actions such as sitting, standing, walking, sleeping, bending, and other basic movements.
Number of visits: 10 to 20.
Frequency of visits: 1 to 2 per week for the next 6 to 10 weeks.
Additional services may include: Cold Laser therapy, stretching and strengthening instruction, and gentle chiropractic adjustments in primary or adjacent regions.
Phase IV: Maintenance Care
Optional, but always recommended to slow degenerative activity which accompany trauma and scar tissue formation.
Objective: To maintain the benefit of decompression care and rehydration of spinal segments.
Frequency of visits: 1 to 2 per month for 1 to 2 years, or as recommended.
Additional services recommended: Chiropractic spinal adjustments.
Please remember – it took lots of time (years or even decades) for the degenerative activities to create the chronic pain in your spine, and it will take longer than just a few visits or a couple of weeks to perform any level of repair.
Be patient and be focused. You have selected to participate in a highly successful and near zero risk treatment plan.
We want you to be healthy and pain free!
